ABOUT KINK OUT

our Vision

We invite you to cross through an evolving door of erotic possibility, where leather culture is accessible for those who have the hardest access or the most fears about entering kink spaces, and everyone has a voice in the artistic and activist conversation.

OUR Mission

LGBTQIA2S+ leather folk and sex workers have enriched the world by creating art and inspiring artists, yet our communities are rarely recognized as legitimate culture creators and are instead relegated as subculture.

We are not a culture beneath the mainstream. We are in a conversation with culture, honoring our past, while remaining agile to possibilities.

We are the instigators; the spellcasters; the heralders for true freedom of expression, bodily autonomy, inclusion of intersectional identities, and consent dialogue.

Kink Out brings intersecting communities together. As an ever-evolving container, Kink Out is a performance platform, ritual space, screening room, art collaboration, panel discussion, BDSM club, rally, call to action, tattoo studio, art auction, and fundraiser for communities most affected by the injustice of censorship, criminalization, and demonization of our lives and livelihoods.

COMMUNITY agreements

All Kink Out events are hosted under the following Community Agreements:

yes means yes

Kink Out is a space that celebrates Enthusiastic Consent! We encourage flirtation and experimentation, which involves reading the verbal and non-verbal cues of other guests. If you are unsure about speaking to, touching, or photographing someone, always ask first!

ask first

Fetish gear and erotic play are not invitations to touch or gawk. Please enjoy voyeuring from a respectful distance. Never take photos or record video in the primary event space at a Kink Out event, where BDSM activities are likely taking place.

power to the people

This space uplifts marginalized communities. Do not make assumptions about identities or pronouns. Absolutely no hate speech!

safer space

Kink Out does not attempt to speak for anyone and our attendees may hold differing perspectives. People express themselves differently, and we want to hold space for those possibilities while still having a safe event. We consider differences and conflicts to be deep learning moments and opportunities for political awakening. We are committed to mutual support.

tip THEM

Always show $upport for art and all labor by generously tipping your BDSM practitioners, bodyworkers, bootblacks, artists, performers, bartenders, volunteers, safety monitors, and any event workers.
